Dutchman Edwin Wiek, who lives in the Hua Hin/Chaam region, is the driving force behind the Wildlife Friends of Thailand foundation. This foundation is concerned with the conservation of wildlife, protection of natural resources and the environment.

One of the projects is in our region: the Wildlife Rescue Center. Various types of monkeys, elephants and bears are cared for here, and there is even a real tiger to see. An important part of the Wildlife Rescue Centre's work is to try to return wildlife to their natural environment.
