Dutchman Edwin Wiek, who lives in the Hua Hin/Chaam region, is the driving force behind the Wildlife Friends of Thailand foundation. This foundation is concerned with the conservation of wildlife, protection of natural resources and the environment.
One of the projects is located in our region: the Wildlife Rescue Centre. Here, among other things, various types of monkeys, elephants and bears are taken care of and there is even a real tiger to see. An important part of the Wildlife Rescue Center's work is to try to return the wild animals to their natural environment.
More about the work of the foundation with lots of images can be found under Wildlife friends of Thailand.
