Board proposal regarding the coming months
In preparation for the General Meeting on Thursday, March 26, we would like to briefly inform the members about the current situation and the board's proposal.
The deadline for nominations for a new board expired on March 14. No candidates came forward within that period. This means that on March 26 no elections can take place.
Therefore, the proposal is that Patrick and Edwin temporarily remain as board members, until the end of September or at the latest the end of October. During this transitional period, only the most necessary matters will be dealt with. In principle, no new expenses will be incurred, except possibly for visits to the sick and – if that goes ahead – to a limited extent for King's Day. The monthly Chef Cha meetings can also continue for the time being, probably through July or August.
The core of the proposal is simple: there are currently no candidates for a new board, and therefore the association must be kept running in a practical manner for the time being. At the same time, this is a moment to re-examine the future of the NVTHC.
The starting point here is that, in practice, the association is primarily a activity association is. Therefore, a simpler structure is being considered, in which members or small groups are given more room to organize activities themselves. In this context, the board will primarily retain a limited, supporting role: ensuring that matters proceed properly and responsibly, handling communication and IT, and only taking on the central tasks.
This is how this proposal wants the association workable, well-organized, and lively retain, while work continues in the coming months on a future-proof form. |
