Dear members,
With regard to the planned General Meeting of Members on Thursday, February 26, we would like to inform you of the following.
Unfortunately, no electoral commission was established due to a lack of interest, which meant that the formal election process that had been prepared was not fully completed.
Initially, two candidate management teams applied: a "men's team" (1) and a "women's team" (2). The women's team withdrew today. This was also due to the considerable wrangling and confusion that surrounded the discussion between the two teams about whether or not to allow proxies. This leaves only one candidate management team, meaning there is no longer a real choice.
We also note rumors circulating that question the status of the formally appointed (and now outgoing) board. This doubt affects the board's position, but more importantly, it undermines the formal foundation and legitimacy of the planned AGM. After all, a General Members' Meeting should be based on trust and clarity regarding powers and responsibilities.
In view of the above, on February 26 no General Meeting will take place. Tomorrow's meeting will, of course, continue as usual, as our regular monthly dinner and social evening!
If members wish to stand for a board position, an Extraordinary General Meeting can be convened at a suitable time.
As previously reported, the outgoing board remains willing to fully cooperate in an orderly and careful transfer, once the successor has been properly appointed.
Yours sincerely,
The outgoing NVTHC board |
