NVT-HUA HIN SURVEY RESULTS

Dear club members and interested parties,

Thank you for your participation in our survey to better understand our members' support for the changes in the structure and design of our Club.We received 43 responses, which seems to be a high statistical score, with a score of around 25%. Normally, this seems to be around 5%. Attached is a summary of the responses to the enclosed questionnaire. The Newsletter, which outlines the proposed format, can be found in the July publication.

Question 1.
Was the newsletter clear?
If No, what did you miss or was unclear?

Question 2.
Do you agree with the proposals for a new design, naming and governance structure?
If No, please indicate what you would like to be different or what is missing here?

Question 3.
What other Club activities do you miss and would you like to have?

Question 4
Can you and do you want to actively participate in the preparation and implementation?
If yes, can we contact you about this?
What activity(ies) could this possibly be?
If no, why not?

Question 5
Would you like to play a role in an activities committee that organizes regularly recurring activities?
If yes, which activity(ies)?

Question 6
Do you have suggestions or ideas to increase our membership base?
If yes, what ideas or suggestions?

Finally, what else would you like to add or what is missing from the questionnaire?

The responses are summarized and can be further elaborated on during the next members meeting;
  • Most respondents found the newsletter clear, although some members commented on a lack of substantive information or insufficient information about activities.

  • Many members feel there's little initiative among them. Some members expect more active organization and leadership from the board itself.

  • There are various suggestions for activities, including dance evenings, golf tournaments, boat trips, fishing, children's activities, walking tours and social (information) meetings.

More attention is also being given to family-friendly events and activities outside work and school hours.

  • Some respondents do not feel sufficiently socially involved or really miss contact with other members, mainly because of distance or because of forms of clique formation within the club.

  • Willingness to actively participate varies; some are willing to participate in preparation and implementation, while others indicate that time pressure or distance makes this difficult.

  • The majority are reluctant to take on a role in an activities committee, but there are also applicants who are willing to do so, which is of course positive.

  • Ideas to increase membership include organizing accessible and family-friendly activities, better promotion through social media, and more efforts to reach and support newcomers.

  • Some critical comments concern the unclear or proposed changed structure and name of the association, the lack of an energetic board, and the risk of membership loss due to new activity formats or clique formation.

  • There is a clear desire to preserve the club's Dutch identity, with a transparent and energetic management approach and regular, well-organized meetings that promote conviviality.

  • It is also reported that the membership consists mainly of older retirees, and that the focus of activities should remain on that, with a possible event for the working younger target group not being ruled out, of course.

These points provide a good overview of general satisfaction, points of criticism, wishes for activities and organization, as well as ideas for growth and improving mutual connections within the Dutch community in Hua Hin and the surrounding area.

CABART SHOW

When Howard Komproe, comedian, presenter, and actor, enters ballet school at the age of twelve, surrounded by beautiful, flexible girls, he thinks he's fulfilling his life's purpose. Unfortunately, lacking a dance background, he has to switch to drama school. That works out fine until he's increasingly in demand as a stand-up comedian at parties and clubs.

Howard quickly found his way to Comedytrain through Eric van Sauers. He made a splash with his fresh, relaxed delivery, and his mischievous attitude allowed him to get away with just about anything. A longing for the party and club scene where he started prompted him, along with Najib Amhali and Murth Mossel, to found FreshWagon, a collective of young Comedytrain members that also includes Jan Jaap van der Wal and Roué Verveer.

He also performs solo for several seasons in Dutch theaters. But being alone is just being alone, so he's launching a new project: LULverhalen. Stories told by (un)known comedians, writers, opinion makers, and TV personalities from a male perspective, as a counterpoint to the vagina monologues.

Howard played Pontus Pilate in the 2016 television spectacle The Passion. He also gives workshops, presents, works for radio and television, and wrote the book "De grens van de grap" (The Boundary of Joke).

Howard is also the creator of the one-liner show Padoem Patsss, with which he toured and which was successfully developed into a TV pilot for 3Lab on NPO 3, followed by 4 episodes for BNN.

Currently, Howard is busy with his online series "Komproeven" (Come Tasting). In "Komproeven," he compares traditional dishes with their "ready-made" counterparts.

In 2018 and 2019, Howard performed with Carribean Combo at AHOY.

In the 2023/2024 theater season, Howard starred in the highly acclaimed production The Story of Travis (Theater Rotterdam). He then appeared in the production Robin Hood (Theater Sonnevanck). He can also be heard weekly from Monday to Thursday on the radio program NPO Blend.
