Historic attendance of the NVTHC General Members' Meeting

With almost eighty attendees, the latest General Members Meeting (ALV) of the NVTHC can rightly be called historic. It was also a remarkable meeting for other reasons, because chairman Do van Drunen, treasurer Thomas Voerman and secretary/vice-chairman Hans Bos resigned after having served the association for many years. Only Patrick Franssen (events) was eligible for re-election,
At the start of the meeting, Do recalled that 2023 had been a good year for the NVTHC. It has grown to 102 members, also a historic number. In addition, the Christmas gala in the Centara was an undisputed highlight with 135 guests. We have made some concessions in terms of finances, but the association's cash position is more than sufficient at approximately 270,000 baht. The annual report was approved thanks to the sponsors.
In his speech, Thomas Voerman discussed the financial affairs of the past year, during which the board organized many events. The audit committee, consisting of Theo van der Heijde and Robert Rijlaarsdam, checked the documents and found them to be in order. Theo and Elmi Smit form the new committee.
The new board then introduced itself, with Hermie Engelbertink as chairman, Robert Rijlaarsdam as vice-chairman, Rini Busschers (secretary), Edwin Willems (treasurer), Patrick Franssen (events) and Sjoerd Joosten (member). The new board was elected unanimously.
In his closing speech, the outgoing chairman thanked him for the trust placed in him. He also noted the importance of the Thai partners present for the atmosphere within the association.
The new board then introduced itself and offered Do, Thomas and Hans a bottle of wine as a thank you for their services.
The new board aims to take the association 'to a higher level' with the help of digitalization and transparency. The number of members must also increase.
