Chairman's talk May 22, 2023
Not much has happened in the last 2 weeks. The Mother's Day breakfast on May 14 at Say Cheese was especially enjoyable. 16 members were present.
On Sunday 21 May, a delegation went to Kachanaburi for the (re)opening of the Bamboo School. At the initiative of the previous board, the NVTHC supports the Bambooschool project there.
Our Dr Mo van Be Well started his career at this school set up by the Karen people.
Thursday 18 May was the monthly board meeting, which was also attended by our new board member Mali ten Houten. And also our webmaster, Gert Visser with tips and tricks for a further professionalization of our website. The main language for our site will remain Dutch, but there will be a translation button to English or Thai. Then our members can read all the news in their own language. We will also try to mention important telephone numbers Hua Hin and Cha-am, mini course Thai, addresses of organizations we have a lot to do with (immigration, tax office, etc.)
We have new members again!!

December: Party time. Preparations are in full swing for our Christmas party and we are also celebrating the 100th anniversary of Centara hotel (originally Railway hotel). We commemorate this with a nod to the 1920s. Board is looking for a T-Ford (or other classic) and/or an engine from that time….
I will see you all this Friday and then I will leave for the Netherlands. Robert Rijlaarsdam will be my observer until my return in October.
Wish you all a nice summer with occasional showers and not too hot.
